Creating a protected membership area or file download area is very simple if you follow Lesson 1 below. In this instance we are going to setup a protected directory where we store our programming modules and documentation. If you are a Turbo member you will also need to know how to set up a protected area for your customers to download their files.

LESSON 1
You can Login to Lunix manually by: 1. Use your FTP program to Login to your website and then make a directory under public_html called Membership. Right-click on the Membership Directory and change permissions to 757 2. Login to your website cpanel...under Security..click on Password Protect Directories Click on Membership... 3. Create User by giving the directory a Username: deb Password: deb 4. Password protect this directory (click to Check box) Name the protected directory..... Membership Save 5. Go back to your ftp program and use the refresh button. Click on Membership directory and notice there is a new file called .htaccess in the directory. If you view the file it will say AuthType Basic AuthName "Membership" AuthUserFile "/home/publishnx2/.htpasswds/public_html/Membership/passwd" require valid-user
6. Make a directory called Documents and then under Documents ....another directory called Lunix... and and then under Lunix create another ditrectory called Logins If you were to go back in to your cpanel and to file manager and look into the Membership directory you would see that the new directories are also set with permissions 755 which means you can view the files after you've logged in. 7. Save this article to Membership/Documents/Lunix/Logins/index.html This file will be located at: http://www.wonderranchpublishing.net/Membership/Documents/Lunix/Logins/index.html
Create a page just under Membership so you needn't type the whole link each time. http://www.wonderranchpublishing.net/Membership/index.html Remember to access this new document you must type in the user name: deb and password.: deb
